Phoenix is enjoying his first bites of red pear. He is sucking all of the juice out of the bite that he took, hence the puckered face. This is what I called the pear incident, a huge mistake that I learned a great deal from. I thought that since Phoenix could eat canned fruit, I could share my pear with him. A bonus was that if I gave him the pear, I could get some sewing done while he walked around the room eating his pear (he seemed so interested in it.) I spent the afternoon not making quilts as I had inteneded, but chasing Phoenix around the room keeping his juicy pear and wet, sticky hands off of other peoples' quilts. I also spend the next 5 days changing runny diapers because fresh pears have more fiber than canned pears. Lesson learned-- Phoenix can have 1 or 2 small slices of a fresh pear in the middle of eating a banana in his high chair.
